Scope Question

When I ordered my CCS 2300KT I went ahead and ordered the scope they had. I'm wondering how they can call this a pistol scope unless I'm doing something wrong? When you hold the scope at arms length like your ready to shoot you can barely see the cross hairs looks like you might have a dimes size view? Now if you hold the scope close up say like you have it mounted on a rifle its perfect... So how can they call this a pistol scope? Glad I bought the Millett before I received the scope from Crosman.

even the Ncstar pistol scopes that i got for my 2240 and 1377 are like that i guess your not to hold the pistol out at arms length with a scope    one thing i liked about the ones i got for my pistols is their only 7 3/4 " long don`t look bad like some i`ve seen with long scope least IMO

Shooting a pistol with a scope is usually done similar to holding a rifle with a scope, close to the face.

Holding the pistol at arm's length is done using open sights or perhaps a red dot although that is still doubtful if you'll get a good view.

Not one pistol scope I've ever owned was held closer than arms length. The 2 that I currently own have a perfect sight picture at that length.

Perhaps what I've seen them using is not a true pistol scope but rather a small rifle scope mounted on a pistol.

Now that could be .... I have a rifle scope that I want to use when I mod a pistol to a carbine.  Until then, that scope is useless because of the uncomfortable position to use it on a regular pistol.

I'm assuming blake.l doesnt have it backwards ....  ... this will give an odd sight picture.

the swift i had needed your arms extended from some to full extension ,the tasco needs full extension of your arms to get a good sight picture

Having said that though, I mounted an NcStar 2-7x32 on my P-17 and find it quite comfortable to aim with up to 10.6" eye relief. Arms are not fully extended straight out, elbows locked, but still a pretty comfortable hold for a pistol. I'm fairly tall (6'4") and have arms like an ape, so yeah, I'm used to dealing with "less-than-ideal" eye relief for pistol scopes

If you are looking for even more eye relief, maybe try a BSA Edge 2-7x32. Up to 20" eye relief. Only bummer is the parallax is set @ 50 yrds: http://www.dlairgun.com/Scopes/BSA/006_Edge_PS27X32_Pistol_Scope.html

Hi Blake.l, if you center that dime you'll take out any parallax error...but I know what you're saying,
seems like you have to make a scope choice based on what type of shooting you do...
You can get better optical image, AO, vari-power with short eye relief....if you want all that in LER and find it - let me know please
