Just out of curiosity..., how much did you spend on your mods for the 2240/13xx platforms ?

Impossible to answer as no gun can ever be called complete.  :P

This came from a poll about 4 years ago on another forum, thrown out to their general poulation. It's only a rough indicator becuase it relies on respondents to self report but... interesting anyway that above $500 was nearly as many folks as $100 and below...

Mods (in $$ above the cost of the gun, 2240, 2250 and 1377)

$50 - $100  32
$105- $200  47
$205-$300   39
$305-$500   26
More than $500  29

And that was probably just one guys answer, talking about his collection of guns.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

I think I have quite a few at more than $500 spent but due to the rarity of some of the parts paying through the ass has to be expected. Also having to import from the US adds to the cost a tad.

So I too am of the school - as much as its costs plus a bit more too.

Financial sense and this hobby don't really mix. But you can't beat the feeling of having a sorted gun that you have just built.

I WAS going to say "Not much"....then I started reading....and thinking...and adding.... :o

The 2540 has a Stace breech..$112...Grips...$75...marauder barrel...$80+shipping....1701 trigger frame...$44 (IIRC)....and that "other" thing we don't talk about here...another $70...a few "bits 'n bobs" jacks it up higher.

Think I paid $85 + shipping for the original 2240 as well. :(

AND....that's only ONE!  :o

Bought another the other day at Walmart...$63...wonder what IT is going to end up costing.  ???

I guess we're all in the same boat hmmm? :)

You know what th >:( ;De description of a boat is: "A hole in the water that you pour money into"
A Crosman pistol is a hole in a barrel that we pour money into  :-* IT NEVER GETS FULL  ;D

Yes it was my Stace guns that are the big money ones. Mainly because I had to buy complete guns to get the parts. Took ages too.

Is there pic of your 2540 one here ? I thought I had tracked all the Stace guns on CAPOF, obviously not.

Cheers Al, if I didn't try to buy it from you I must have missed it  ;D Very very nice too  :-*

I tried to buy every gun with a Stace breech that I have seen I think, no one would sell. It was only the beady eyes of ED 1377x that spotted one on the yellow that got me the breech I was after.

Now I know Grant a bit better he has sold me another one so that one has worked out massively cheaper to build.

My Stainless 2240 is the big money gun but really can't remember what it cost me. All of the Don C stuff was the bulk of the gun's cost. Both sets of grips were about 60 bucks or so.

I think the big money was in the light phase shifter that turns it from gold to silver!  ;D

Every time I see Mike's stainless beauty I drool.  I love the polish on that trigger frame....it's sick!!

I have one 2240 that's got over $500 invested in it, including the original cost of the stock gun.  Maybe I shouldn't use the word "invested"...since I probably couldnt sell it for a quarter of that.  That's not counting the effort put into the build either.  All the other 22xx and 13xx's I have are in the middle of that range.  I hang my head in shame....but with a silly grin on.
