Well normally we just don't discuss this sort of stuff in public as it could be pretty embarrassing.  But to be honest, I have probably spent three or four times what the gun originally cost.  Maybe more than that on some of them.

OK, $50 gun. What is the first thing you want to do? Trigger is too heavy? Start there and go to search here on the forum and look for trigger mods. Then you don't like the rear sight? Need a new breech? Steel,brass, SS?  Now  you have your trigger and your new breech. Now you need a sight? Open, peep, red dot or a scope?  Get the idea? It does not stop and there is no know cure. QUACK,QUACK,QUACK!!!!

Yup, sounds familiar ! I have already bought the steel breech (more than half of the price of the gun), so looking for a scope now... And I can think easily on some other must have mods too....

The breech I want costs more than the stock 2240! So there is double.
Add a pistol scope (a cheap on) and there is triple.
Oh don't forget the 1701P trigger frame and flow-thru bolt and handle. Now we've quadrupled the cost.
Add a TKO and a Power Adjuster and now we are at 5 times,
oh, oh......let's not forget and nicer barrel band and the crowning jewel, a winged gas cap from Mr007. Now we are at 6 times!!


300 bucks and with the exception of a couple of the parts, I was talking the lower/moderatly priced components. Top shelf goodies can easily add another 150 to the scoreboard.......200 more if you want a LW barrel...........so, 500 bucks into a pistol is not out of the realm of the 2240

This came from a poll about 4 years ago on another forum, thrown out to their general poulation. It's only a rough indicator becuase it relies on respondents to self report but... interesting anyway that above $500 was nearly as many folks as $100 and below...
