We arrived home late last night in the pouring rain.  In fact, it was a torrential downpour for the last 450 miles.  We finally decided we couldn't wait it out any longer and drove home.  It's not that I mind riding in the rain, which I don't.  I just hate with a passion to have to start out in the rain.  >:(

At least it wasn't too, too cold otherwise I would probably be a single airgunner today.  :D  Bless her heart, she is a great sport and oves to ride with me.  She is my BoB, Beauty on Back.  :-\

I hated riding in the rain! In my stupid youth (early 20's) I was bound to ride my bike and only my bike for the 4-seasons. That was in New England and I did it, but never since  :D Riding in the snow has a special feeling of fear to it, all its own :-*

What Carl said, I'm in Salem Oregon... I've been to 4 stores I think and have seen 2240's in all of them, half of them didn't have them out but if you walked around the corner you could see them under the countertop...

After I get caught up with things again I'll probably get another one to keep stock after I screw with the one I have now... might swap barrels tonight, it would get me to making an order with Crosman sooner :)
Near McMinnville, Oregon

Have me many an airgun :), count is 102 now...

Been there... done that ;)
Only had my bike for one of the winters growing up in SD. That was often an adventure from god lol ;)

I don't know how far I will go with this one myself...  :o :o :-*

I ordered the Steel Breech with the gun, and I'll build another extend probe as well as do the ''as required'' barrel/ trigger mods. Looking at some grips too. MAYBE a power adjuster. But I like the barrel length as it is and I don't care for the looks of the barrel blob   :P many install. I have repeatedly read of the noise and understand this is a big reason many go to it. I may end up doing it for that reason as well. But for now, I'll try it as is.
I WAS gonna order and install the BOSS valve, but this is really gonna be a plinker for me and power isn't gonna be required.  :-\ :-\ ;)

I didn't get the ''shipped '' email as I usually do on Mondays after ordering ion the weekend. (The say same day shipping of ordered before noon EST)  :o ;) BUT looking at the site, I see it is ''ready to ship'' so I'm now thinking Thursday which will be fine as I really only will play over the weekend.

My 2240 arrived today!!  ;) :P

I cleaned the barrel, oiled and inserted a cylinder and fired about a doz K&N Hobby pellets 11.9g. MAN SHE SHOOTS GOOD!!!  All the pellets could be covered with a dime!
So I pulled out the chrony. I have had problems with it indoors. Sure enough, no workie... not enough light.  :(  SO I moved it to the deck outside. I'm safe to shoot outside, but have neighbors and like to stay friendly... SO I only fired 4-5 shots.

This is first shot over chrony, with about 15 shots thru the cylinder using the same K&N Hobby pellets 11.9 grains.

That's my base line, let the modding begin.  :-\ :-* :-\ :-* :-\ :-*

Those are excellent numbers right out of the package  :-*  You should put it at 500-525 with no problems.
The 2240 is often overlooked in stock form. First thing most people do is to tear into it and start changing everything. That's what I have always done, but I have one now that I am keeping stock and I am going to just enjoy the cheapo shooter!!!

Have fun with it! The probe and breech might get you to 500 or pretty close.

From what I have read... those are good out of the box numbers. The light pellets must be helping there some. Congrats on getting your new gun!!  :) :-*

Rich - does a steel breech actually help in the fps numbers? If so, didn't know that.

No, probably not, unless it makes a better seal on the transfer port.  ;)

It shoots pretty fair!

These are 5 shots of Crosman Destroyers. I wanted to see how the newly crowned barrel shot... acceptably I would say.  ;)
