Very cool. I hope it turns out to be a good one Gringo.

I think it just might be a good one.  After doing the trigger thinghy, turning the sights around to use the aperture and tightening the barrel band, it was making nickel size, five shot groups at 10 meters using the pellets that came with it...off of a rest, of course.    :)

I've shot maybe 50 rounds through her and had to quit to go in search of some new muscles.   :-[

Nice shooting. Yeah, 50 pellets is a good amount for the pump guns. A lot of times I'll just use 3 pumps for close range plinking/ target.   ??? Plus it's quiet for outdoors that way.

Same here Michael, tweek, polish, clean and lube an adjust sights... and all I added was the model 760 F.O. front sight that Crosshairs kindly sent me.

BTW, my sights were a littl low out of the box but, windage (center line to barrel) was dead nuts, how lucky was that!?  :D

- Never said "I wasn't good with a pellet pistol", just said, "I didn't have much need for one."

Viper: just a suggestion... do as Chongman and I have done for the first 100 or so shots and see how you like it in it's cleaned, lubed and polished mode before you begin modifiying heavily. I found that I had forgotten how cool these guns are in their (nearly) stock condition. Also, it gives you a baseline of performance and accuracy to judge your mods or improvements by.

Scrub the barrel, polish the trigger bits, lube er up and let er rip!  :D ;D

Huh  :D ??? No... you just call Crosman parts dept, tell them you want the 1701P pistol grips and the 6-32 screws that hold e'm on. Voila! 1322 pistol made from Backpacker.  :-*
If you want the "original" dark green BackPacker grips use part #s 1389-016 & 1389-017. I bought mine back in JAN of this year. They were $2.03 ea. RE: the grip screws, I bought mine (brass ones no less) at my local hardware store for a lot less than $1.15 a piece (maybe $.30 but I can't remember). The brass ones add a touch of class too! :-* Flex

I read about various Crosman parts herein but when I go to Crosman.com, all I ever find are finished products.   ???

How does one find a list of Crosman parts and the part number?  For starters, I'd like a longer barrel for my 2289 and fiber optic sights for both the 2289 and my 1377.

Never mind, the answers were previously posted here:

Upon further review, these barrels appear to be original issue lengths.  So, any other length barrel must be a custom product, yes?

Try this thread too. There are numerous links to all crosman models and part numbers and exploded diagrams. Very useful.

Black air pistols matter.

That is affirmative.  There are several vendors that do that and some of us cut and crown our own barrels.

What is a 17xx?   Will the -2240/50/60/89, 17xx fiber optic front sight: #760-201 fit my 1377 as well as the 2289?  If not, who knows the part no. for the 1377c fiber optic sight?

Greg
