So my next project has some aluminum parts that i will be painting i have a special paint i would like to shear if you guy don't already no about it. It's a special primer and made for this type of painting. It's called Self etching primer made by SEM it coast 20 beans for a 15.5 oz can. I have painted aluminum before only to have the paint scratch easy and chip doing all the proper prep work mind you. The can tells you to use 180 grit sand paper and clean the parts after. So i will post the gun as soon as it's done wish me luck.

Good luck indeed, Mike!  :-*

The shroud on my MK I hpa is aluminum and I have had the same problems you just stated, no matter what brand I try  >:(. I'm about ready to give up on paint and just powdercoat it instead.

Looking forward to the pics and your verdict as well!

This Aluma-Hyde-II....

Are you using an etching primer or straight out of the can onto clean bare metal (barrel or grip frame)?

This is the one I have been using with good results. Painting aluminun is a pain, I have even heard of people using vinegar as a self etching primer for aluminun but have not tried it. I always use self etching primer on bare metals. I have tried shortcuts with bad results...
