I just ordered a 2289 forearm and asked for part # 1389-010.  The lady told me it was discontinued.  So on to the next part.  I couldn't find my older packing sheet where I had gotten one before so I put the order on hold to look for it.  Still couldn't find it so I called back to Crosman and got a guy who had just looked up the new # for another customer.  Why the lady couldn't do that I don't know.
Anyway, new # for 2289 Backpacker forearm is 1389-025.

Could be the different part numbers have to do with a color change in the material.

Some days customer service reps have bad days just like you and me.  :)
