I have not shot my 2240 yet, still new and will do it over the weekend.
I have read that the standard sights can't be perfectly sighted in. Apparently is shoots high or low, no matter what.
What aftermarket sights can I install on it? I want it to remain open sighted.

I dunno if this will work it's the 1 in the plastic pack..It's a Weirauch rear sight from Pyramid..I ordered it for a friend of mine and I am selling it to him lol! Gonna try to mount it on 1 of my Crosman breeches to see if it works..

1. It is too loud to shoot where I live. I have to wait to get to the farm this weekend. I only got the pistol last week.
2. Thanks, this gives me hope

Yep, stock sites work fine for me once adjusted. Make sure to bring a small phillips head screwdriver with you to adjust the rear sit blade with.

& a flat blade for windage adjustment. ;)

Some folks like to put a dab of white paint or something on the front sight to make it stand out better.  Me included.

Or put a green fiber-optic on it from Crosman for a couple of bucks, the 760 rifle front sight fits exactly the same as the 22XX stock sight.

Couldn't agree more with this.

There is nothing wrong with the stock sights.  Where are you getting your information?

dont think i ever tried open sites on a 22xx but on the 1377 the stock sights had to be modded for zeroing. i didnt have enough left/right adjustment so i turned the head of the screw down and elongated the sight slot. worked like a charm

I really cannot remember on what forum I read about it, might even be this one :)

Hunter... there are dozens of influencing factors (most are human related) to whether or not someone thinks the "stock sights" are N/G. Periphreal vision, astygmatism, color perception, depth perception, near or far sighted-ness (lens shape) and on-and-on. Comments like the "stock sights suck" may be more of a comment on the shooters eyesight and marksmanship capabilities than the sights  :D :-*

My eyes are not the best but, with my distance glasses on, I shoot one-hole targets at 10 meters with the stock rear peep and stock fiber optic front sight on my 2289 Backpacker (its the same as the 2289 sight except it has the green light tube in it) :-*

Try it, it's more of a challenge but also more gratifying to shoot one-hole targets with open sights ;)

I wonder where I can buy a white fine liner pen? I've never seen one before in local shops but I needed one so many times before for this hobby of ours. I'm thinking something like a Artline 200 but in white

Walmart, it's white out fluid but it works...

"Bic Wite-Out Shake'n'Squeeze Correction Pen, White, 2 Ct., 2-Pack.The Bic Wite-Out Shake'n'Squeeze Correction Pen has a needle point tip for accurate, precise corrections. It has fast drying, premium coverage that dries to a smooth finish. The soft squeeze barrel is for increased control. The formula covers photocopies, faxes, ink, permanent marker, and more. Each Bic Wite-Out Shake'n'Squeeze Correction Pen contains 8-ml of Wite-Out correction fluid."
