PC 77 roll pin was migrating so while waiting for good pin to get here made one from drill bit shank held with rubber bands.

Groups were large and all over because of pin,  this was after getting down to 1" groups from same wide  groups caused by the lead in and port  being poorly done.

It was gusting yesterday but...

hit the quarter size bull 4 times out of 11

The 2100 was shotgunning also...

Why is in other thread.

Because of lack of a wiper/oiler  still will have probs consistency wise.

but yesterday picked up some 1/2" nylon bushings at Ace hardware.

Drilled out to fit barrel and wraped with two layers of duct tape to make tight in shroud.

Oiled right before first five shots with the  7.4g points.    ( flier was me not Rifle)

then one  10.5 mag at bottom just nicked bottom of plate

then one drop of oil and aimed at top of bull  (hard to see but got the bottom of bull)

went back to center bull aim point (wanted to see grouping)

So yep my four  $0.45 barrel stabilizers work :)

Still need to figure out wipers for  PC77, 1322 and 2100 when I stuff the pistons with 1/8th rod.

This mornings groups below,

The rest of the accuracy tune will be after parts get here trigger, polish hammer and such...

But at least I have them shooting well enough to learn a bit.

First it is the pellets limit  the 7.4 hunters (head shot) do good out to 20 yards, 25 is pushing them and @ 30 the only thing I would hunt with them is

tin cans.

second is one drop of oil then a five shot string and with both the 7.4s and 10.5s  @ 25 and 30 yards expect to lose 1/4" per shot  (with the 2100b)

Can you still get the older 2 piece piston with wiper as a replacement part?

Wipers not only for more time between oiling but also help consistency...

Crosman I can see making the piston plastic to stick to a price point.

But no wiper says we do not care... accuracy suffers and more prone to wear...  planned problems?

The 1377/22 and 766/2100/2200 platform had built a rep as the best at its price point...

Some decisions really make your customer feel like they are being treated like suckers.

Tuners can fix but there are many I bet that wonder about loss of power....

Thanks,

I have not done any shooting for about ten years or so  and it has been fun to shake the rust off a bit.

I am also having a blast working on them, to make them the best 20-30 yard hunters they can be...

The 1322 is still plugging away with good grouping and the only thing I do is one small drop oil every five shots...

did bump/move the  rear sight once but no other probs.

That's what it's all about. If it ain't fun need to look into a new hobby. Cool that you are getting a handle on the accuracy problems too. :-*

i havent done any real shooting in the last 2 years. i had a pest problem that the ol' 1377 .22 conversion took care of was taking @45 yard shots with good accuracy
we used to plink in the backyard daily a tin or two in a short period of time but after a tragedy happened that came to a complete stop. nothing to do with the air guns just the shooters. now im finally at a point i can get out more been doing a little shooting here and there now. a lot of testing needs to be done but i'll get to it. i want everything running in tip top shape that happens and things are coming together nicely now. my 1377 comes out first in the fight against pests ;)

Ed I have been there also. Wandering the Nevada desert for a few years was my medicine at the time, until I learned to breathe around others again.
It has been many years and it never goes all the way quiet. Through it all, life is a gift and there was much that made it worth learning to keep going.

" 1377 .22 conversion took care of was taking @45 yard shots with good accuracy"

Before I looked I guessed a Walther  barrel and probably shooting close to 600 Fps...

Right now it is fun getting the minor victories of working on the 77 and 2100,  to go from  spraying lead all over,  then getting to this morning with the 2100.

I think the two misses are because of slight phycological probs, you get such a good string going that ya say don't want to sc#3 this up, so ya do...

Small circle is traced using a quarter large is a vitamin bottle cap that is very close to the Crosman  25' rapid fire pistol target.

30 yards, prone no rest

that's very good! especially with a 2100
i had a 2100 the old coleman/crosman 2100 with the open sights i would get shotgun patterns but after i scoped it that made it a pest control device and sat by the backdoor waiting for the roof raiders to make their advance
i think the farthest i shot it was 20 yards. it sure did have some nice power for a gun that was never rebuilt.

I was not going to post any more targets but getting the 2100 to the point it is able to pull off that , well  I could not help myself.

Going from a loose bowed barrel to this feels pretty good,

I just hope I can keep doing my part I felt the 2100 had it in it but was not sure...

When I was young I was a pretty good shot with just about anything  .22 to .308 to .338, M16 to M60 to M79 but,

30 + year older eyes now so it might just have been a matter of luck.  (I'll find out soon though)

All it took was a little duct tape, plumbers Teflon tape, shortening the sight screws, and a few  drilled out 1/2" nylon bushings.  :) ;) :)

I think the duct tape around the bushings actually helped let things bed in right... ( just took a day or so and a few pellets) ???  ???  ???

I went to set up a chono with my spare computer and two mics but my youngest son took his with him when he went to the coast.  Waiting for my new one to get here.

I want to see how close I came  estimating fps using  their trajectory and Chair Gun...
