Pellet Exchange

I have an idea if someone wants to try a pellet maybe instead of buying a hole tin we can ask each other. And if you want to try a pellet I have I will exchange you for some of mine. Just thinking out loud.

Sounds like a good idea would help out the newbeis and give the older guys a chance to try something new

It can't hurt Jim that's for sure. I guess we can list the pellets we have and list the ones we want to try and start from there. I would say 20 or 30 pellets would be enough to figure out if they work well or not.

That is an awesome idea!!  Do you guys think that would be best as a new category itself so the posts won't get buried in an already going thread?  I'm sure there are others here on CAPOF that are in my situation; limited budget and unable to afford full tins of 4,6 or more just to see if they'll shoot.

I have a picture of a pellet testing target I need to get posted with several brands/styles of pellets, the test of some of the pellets wouldn't have been possible without the generosity of another forum brother.  Would you guys be opposed to me posting that pic in this thread?  It may help encourage others to be willing to support this idea, and possibly start a new category dedicated to pellet exchanges.

This is an excellent idea. I don't have many out of the ordinary pellets, but would sure like to try a few JSB's out in my 1740.


How would we work out the logistics of this? Make a thread with what we have and then use the PM system for trades?

I think that should work, looks good to me.  Would anyone mind if I post a test target pic and chrony info there or should it be somewhere else?  I tested 11 different pellets.  I don't have anything other than Crosmans and the RWS Superdome, some were sent to me, 25 of each pellet.

in the uk you can buy pellet tester packs(evil bay) 5 or 6 different brands with about 25 pellets of each type,might be worth looking to see if any one your side of the pond does them as well

I do believe Rich suggested using the pellet database in the first post. I guess a link would work but most should know where that post/sticky is.
