Hey guys, took an eBay risk and it paid off.  Got this Bianchi Ranger shoulder holster originally marketed for a 10+ inch large frame revolver.  Fits the 1377 like a glove, even with the 1389 forend.  There's about 3-4 inches of dead space in the bottom, which is good for someone with a brake or longer barrel.  For me I've thought of maybe stuffing something down there but it's not necessary.  The way the holster is arranged and the extra girth of the 1389 forend prevents it from sinking, although this might be just the excuse I need to do some more mods.

They also market this for I believe 7-9 inch revolvers, which may be a better fit for a stock length 1377 and I believe they also have them for guns with optics.  Really comfortable to wear, even with athletic pants and a T-shirt.  The load bearing portion is a padded rucksack type strap and designed for something that weights easily twice that of a fully kitted up 1377.  The holster itself also has generous padding on the side that contacts your body.  You can adjust the straps so the holster is perpendicular to the ground and riding along side your body, at a 45 degree angle across your chest and everything in between.

If you wear a belt in the field it has a redundant attachment point at the barrel end but it's not at all necessary.  Adjusts to fit a wide variety of body types.  I'm 5'9" and stocky, my neighbor is about 6' and lean, easily adjusts in seconds to fit either of us with much room to spare in both cases.

This is a cross-draw holster so it doesn't get in the way if you're carrying/shooting a long gun.  The pictures aren't the best...what I could do with one hand and a mirror, but I think this may well be the best solution for field carry of a 1377, especially one thats been modified.

EDIT:  Adding images would have helped...

Cool!!  That was a good find and it appears the roll of the diced on the EBay purchas paid off.
