One or two piece scope rings

Collecting ideas and a wish list for my "birthday 2240" to be received as a "surprise" in less than two weeks. Also on the "secret" list is an aluminum, long, LH receiver. So, I'm ready for a scope. For an entry-level scope, I have tentatively selected a simple 2X20mm BSA scope as I am familiar with it (I have one on my turkey/deer shotgun). Purpose for this setup is furry vermin eradication at a range of 25' to 75.'

What is a better match for ease of installation, weight, and general performance?

(1) a 1 piece UTG Airgun .22 High Profile Integral 1-Inch Ring Mount, or
(2) a pair of Leapers Accushot 1 Rings, 4 Screws/Cap

I'm leaning toward the 1 piece set. Thanks.

On a 2240, go with the two piece rings. It will provide more mounting position options. Make sure the rings have .22/dovetail bases.

Couple of side comments. The scope you want does not have AO. It may (or may not) cause some parallax issues at ranges under 50 yards. At the ranges you plan on shooting, have you considered a red dot sight? They are inexpensive, have unlimited eye relief, provide wide field of view for fast target acquisition, and are non-magnifying so your aim point will not wander as much as with a scope.

I believe two piece rings would make it easier to load too, depending on where you mount them. Someone will correct me if I'm off on that.
If you go with a red dot, I highly recommend a 3MOA or 2MOA dot size. I've tried a 5 and it was useless except for very close range shots.

P.S.  These boards have been REALLY slow lately.  :o

OK. Got it on the two ring solution. Same as on some other pieces I have. being new to air pistols, I was thinking a one piece might be a popular solution here in Crosman land.

Also agree on the 2 MOA red dot. However, can you recommend one under $100?

Thanks,
Craig

You may want to consider an offset mount like I have here on Old Glory. The problem with the one piece is that it will restrict access to the loading port by laying across the top of it.
Black air pistols matter.

Agree.   Run Two rings, or the Offset mount.  I purchased one, with the intention of re-setting the scope on a Crickett .22 (single-shot PB, not airgun) but was able to shift the scope rings to get a better cheek weld instead.  So now I'll use it for mounting a scope on one of my Air Pistols.  :-*
It ain't like it used to be but, eh, it's do.

As others have said two piece are better for your application.  One piece are better for springers where you need to prevent scope creep which is not an issue with pumpers or CO2.  As for RD sights:

Something to investigate.

BKL makes the best rings IMO. almost all of my guns have them and if not they will soon. Go with two piece for easy loading.

+1 one on the BKL's.  I use them on my scoped air pistols/rifles and 22LR rifles.  Nothing better.

X2 on the bkl rings all my guns have them.
