OK, admit that I'm an uneducated newby, but I'm confused.  How about a discussion of the various power sources, i.e. spring, Co2, nitrogen, hand pump (1377), high pressure air, ?????.  Interested in what they are, advantages/disadvantages, equipment involved and in language us newbies can understand.  I guess I missed the AG 101 course somewhere along the line.

Thanks - Steve

Good place to start is at the Pyramyd Air Airgun Academy. Scroll down a bit to Categories on the right hand side fo the page. Click links of interest to you.

AOA provides a nice glossary of terms.

Here's one of the better A-Z listings of airgun terms and words... otherwise, what Larry said in his post.   http://www.canadianairguns.com/content.php?116-Airgun-Terminology-and-Glossary-Canada-shooting-language

What you asked for (a discussion) would require 5 to 6 guys, all retired, with nothing else to do but reiterate design and characteristics of the basic platforms that is already all over the forum and the web too.

Thanks for the starting places, and "being all over the forum and web" is my problem.  Takes a while to figure out who knows what they are talking about v.s. the idiots (ref:  Washer mods).  Just hard to tell where to start -- Like get a platform and just do it!

Jolly good. You are wanting a crash coarse on the info. it takes an average of  2 years to acquire, now bad. When I joined the forum, I didn't know what PCP was, thought it was a drug. Didn't know that springers are hold sensitive. Just learned what HPA means. So my suggestion to you would be, read, read and read. It just takes time, you'll get there. ;) ;)
We need to keep going and have fun doing it.
