Hi all,

I need some advice.
I was shooting with my Crosman M4-177.

Using bb's I sighted my rifle and was shooting very accurately at about 20 yards.
Then I switched for crosman hollow point pellets and every shots were off sight.
That much that I wasn't even hitting my target!

I don't get it...
The only thing I can understand is perhaps a weight difference.... But again...

Help me out please.

HUGE difference between BBs and pellets. You will need to resight your gun when switching to pellets. I would never shoot BBs out of a rifled barrel like the one on the M4177. Pellets will shoot much lower than BBs.

Ahh... Thanks for your reply.
So indeed a weight factor...

It s@ks a little for I like the way I can recharge around 23 BBs without having to reload.
Oh well, now I remember why I never like BBs when I was younger!

But as long as the rifled barrel, what harm can it makes?

I think that the general consensus of most airgun enthusiasts will be that steel BBs fired thru a rifled barrel will eventually damage the barrel. If you need to get more shots for less cost, then make sure that you're using a smooth bore barrel. Accuracy and precision will clearly suffer but if all you are after is the fun of shooting then get a airgun with an un-rifled barrel and "go to town"!
