Is it easy to convert a 2289 to co2 or hpa with say a 2260 tube? And if so what else might I need to complete it? Thanks

Lots and lots of money.  ??? Why not just buy a 2260? Crosman has them for $125.00.

You can presently order a 2400KT with a 14.6"  barrel for $74.46, plus $2.50 handling, free shipping.
This includes long steel breech, adjustable sear spring, adjustable trigger stop, plastic butt stock, plastic fore stock, NO rear sight, plastic front sight.
Of course, you can also add other stuff...
All for 15% off.
Lucky Darlene is going to get a nice birthday present, personalized, of course.

You would need a CO2 tube (take your pick between the 2240, 2250 or 2260), CO2 valve, end cap (actually, both end caps), barrel band, and hammer, probably $30 in parts from the parts department
Near McMinnville, Oregon

Have me many an airgun :), count is 102 now...

A 2289 can be converted if you are so inclined, but not using 22xx parts. The tubes have different diameters, and as such the parts are not interchangeable between the two series. (2289 is basically the same as 13xx)

The easiest route is with a complete 22xx bottom end, or starting out with a 22xx to begin with...as mentioned.

Alternatively....remove pump assembly, thread the front half of the valve body 1/8" nptf and run a suitable pressure line from a remote bottle directly into the valve body.
