A thread of caution before ordering a steel breech...

Thanks for the response. Luckily the steel breech that I received from a dealer does have the right screw location, but it is short of a breech/barrel hex screw though. It's kind of difficult to get this screw from a hardware store. Any suggestion?

An email to the dealer should get you a set screw in the mail. I have not found one that short locally.

I have bought steel breeches from both Crosman and independent dealers. The ones from Crosman (the kit form) did come with the barrel locking (8-32x1/8") set screw, the one from the air gun shop did not. AFAIK (or remember) neither came with the breech to tube "grub"screw (4-48x1/4") since you would be using the same screw that retained the plastic breech that was being replaced.
Ryan's main problem here is that he may have issues finding a 8-32x1/8" set screw in the "metric world " of Canada! I suppose that it might be possible for an independent hardware store to stock "imperial" (SAE) fasteners just as hardware stores here in the U.S. have "metric" sections, but that may or may not be the case where he lives ;-(.

Ryan, I have some breech screws with slotted heads.  The head is oversized and needs to be turned down.  But it is the right size and stainless steel.  PM me your address and I will send you one.
