2240 spring guide rod

Hi im toying with the idea of fitting a guide rod for the spring on my 2240, is this a good idea as people have said it keeps the spring from moving around when cocking

Trigger spring? Hammer spring? I think both are a nice mod and not expensive. Just do it

Are you talking for the trigger spring or the hammer spring? A guide rod for the trigger spring can be as simple as a spent brass .22 lr shell fitted over the spring, bottom up, riding on the sear. A hammer spring guide is usually a piece of acetal rod turned down to fit inside, they can be purchased from a number of aftermarket vendors as well as Crosman. Crosman 2300s uses one that will fit all 22xx Co2 guns.

Sorry guys yes its the long spring at the back of the pistol behind the end cap, i purchased a brass custom end cap from gmac but thought should i also purchase the rod and spring. Just bare with me im new to all this.

The need for a spring guide is usually when using a pressure adjuster. It will keep the spring from binding when you compress it farther than normal.
