I'm still looking for some decent wood for my 1377.  I've had one less than stellar experience with an internet purchase.  (Two hours of dremel work and sanding later and the grips and forearm are ready to strip the varnish and finish reshaping them so they fit and work.)  Any suggestions for someone who turns out grips and forearms that fit?

OK so I  was given a 1985 Daisy 953 a few years ago... that lead to picking up a used Crosman 2100 and 1377 as a package deal 70$... I remembered the modded Benji .22 and Crosman 2200 that a friend's Dad put together for me in the early 80's... very good hunters out to about 30-35 yards at about 17 fpe... I loved those rifles... back then I would be out in the desert or up in the Sierras for months at a time and one of them would be with me with about 4 tins of Benji green label pellets...

So of course I had to check the mods that people have done and parts available...

and I had to have the steel breech $42 ; longer barrel $20 ;  the 1399 stock $10 ; 3-7x20 scope $16 ; and of course all the home done power mods.

So that's 30+42+20+10+16 and my 1377 became a $118  750 fps(with 7.9g pellets) accurate little 18" barrel 10 fpe  1377 carbine... so about $20-30 less than a Benji 397... It took more easier pumps to get just a little less power... but I loved the modular nature of the 13xx platform...

so I am pretty happy with both it and my accurized 2100(home made barrel stabilizers and tape and shortened sight screws) both will hit a quarter at 30 yards every time...

bout a month later they bring back the 1322... I had planned on making one...it was on sale at wally world for $42... so steel breech $42 ; 14.5 barrel $13 ; stock $10 ; 3-7x20 scope $16 ; home power mods.

So for  $123 I end up with a 650 fps (with 14.3g pellets) very quick handling accurate little 13.5 fpe short 1322 carbine... and yep  will hit a quarter at 30 yards every time...


Well way back in the 80s I had dreamed of a 700 fps+ .25 pellet rifle so using my 2100 pump tube $30 ; a modded(extended) valve nose $15 ; a BnA  NPXL 725 19" .25 barrel modded for the Crosman breech $50 ; a steel breech $42 ; a stock $10 ; and an old (60s-70s) Japan made(Tasco) Hurricane Horizon 4x32 gift from neighbor ;

so $147 later  I have a 650 fps (with 20.1g pellets) accurate 18.5 fpe 1325XLT a 2100/13xx hybrid carbine...


it has since gone to a 22" 22 barrel and hits 750 fps with 14.3g pellets... I recently stole that barrel for a new project and it will get a 16" .177 barrel soon...

then came the 13xx/66 hybrid a 1322MLT 685 fps with 14.3 pellets


All the above have about a .13 c.i. valve size



the below has about a .24 c.i. valve  ( I think I can easily mod further to about .26 c.i.)



then the MK177/13xx hybrid  805 fps with 14.3 pellets  the MK1322

I have all the parts for an MK1377  and have hit 900+ fps with 7.9g pellets...

there will be a even larger  .35-.4 c.i. valve .25 caliber in the future... should get 800+ fps...

I got a couple killer deals on a 19" L.W. .177 barrel and a 14.5 L.W. .22 barrel...

I also picked up a Daisy 953 fast twist barrel...

a Marlin model 60 MG .22 barrel...

And enough parts for two more 13xxs...

I do need one more steel breech...

Nah I did not get sucked in by a $50 dollar pellet pistol I can Quit whenever I want to...  I just do not want to...

Honestly I have had a blast tinkering and shooting ( I am guessing over 5000 pellets) over the past couple years. so yep $400-500 a year... Worth every penny+++...

OK.  Now I know I am hooked.  Not only was KO's post an interesting and envy creating read, but I want to see pictures!!!

For me, a lot of the fun of the mods is planning them.  Trying out different ideas to see what may work the best, getting the parts together, and then seeing a gun grow as you put it all together.  And then you get to shoot it and be able to afford to do so.  Ahh.  Great fun.

They look good and the seller claims they are fitted to a pistol before shipping.

I guess I just aquired my next project too - my old 1978 vintage 1377 that I left at my parents house.  I've got all new seals on hand in addition to a like new piston and valve.  Going to be fun getting it up to snuff.

K.O. -  What an oddesy those links lead to.  And how much you've learned and shared on the journey.  For me, I'm well pleased to just have a good understanding of how my pumper functions.

Made my first person to person contact with the mother ship and ordered a complete 1701P grip frame and grips.  They asked if it was my first order and I told them I had a pending one with the ccs.  No issue getting the parts and they were in stock.  Forgot to order the disco hammer so I will be doing the steel putty mod I guess. I'm thinking I may need to mod the wood grips I ordered a bit as well for the sear spring adjuster.

Thanks for the link on the grips.  I took a look and he is doing some very nice work.

But, I also found out that Steve Corcoran has started to take orders for stocks and grips, including some 1377 grips and forearms of which he is making a limited run.  I do not know if you have seen Steve's work, but it is amazing.  Check out his website - http://www.woodsandwateroutdoors.com/index.htm Lots of very nice pieces of what can only be called "art" to attach to the guns we build (and to add significantly to the costs of them).  I have asked Steve to put my name on one of the sets of grips he is making.  I really want to be able to finish building my 1377 by installing them.

Yes, I've seen his site.  He certainly has talent.  I'll post some photos and impressions when the grips arrive.  Have to drive the forearm roll pins carefully or I'll ding up the wood.
