I'm brand new to this, so I hope the terminology is correct.
I bought a 14" barrel for my new 2240, a bit of overkill, I know, but it's all I could find locally,
resources in Canada are limited.
I thought instead of getting the barrel shortened and re-crowned, it might look cool to just
add a shroud on the barrel to make it look it look purposeful?
I don't know who makes these, and it's hard to find those who will ship to Canada, or will ship
at an economical cost. So does anyone have any ideas or advice about making my own.
What about materials, tubing, hose, foam, wrap, carbon fibre? Where to find?
Thanks

are you wanting the shroud to act as a ldc or just to thicken the barrel diameter up

I just want the shroud for appearances, thicken up the barrel.

A lot of hardware stores carry aluminum tube in various diameters. Can also look at hobby shops for tubing and carbon fiber tubes.

Without some kind of breech riser, there is little room between the barrel and air tube for a shroud. You could use a piece of aluminum tube as said before, then get a plastic rod and cut end pieces to fit. Drill holes in the appropriate place to fit the barrel, may look funny with the hole being so low on the end, but would look fine otherwise.

for where the main tube is you can sand/cut/grind/mill a flat on the tube so it looks the same as a roll pin when viewed end on

Thanks for the ideas.
I got two lengths of carbon fibre tubing, one fits just nicely to the barrel with maybe one turn of electrical tape
to hold, will slide between barrel and action tube, second larger tube with nice weave finish slides perfectly over
the first. will cut and fit, should look nice?
