So I just received a 24" barrel from Crosman. I was a little unsure of what I was ordering, but what I wanted was something I could put on my 1377 and cut down and recrown.  However, I noticed that there is a flat notch cut in the top of the barrel halfway down, and a divet for a grub screw 3/4 of the way down. I'm not sure what those things are for to be quite honest. Can someone shed some light?

The 24" barrel comes off the 2260 rifle. That is why the notches. Same barrel, same dia. as a standard barrel, but just longer.  :P
We need to keep going and have fun doing it.

Yeah, it had a flat spot on the muzzle too, but I cut that end off. I think I recall in past threads people talking about having to just live with the flat spot in the middle since since that's the way the barrel comes.

Flat spot on the muzzle is for the front barrel weight on a Disco.

Not bad for $20. I made one barrel 12.5" and can do the other one at 11.5", which would leave enough tip sticking out from the barrel band to attach a front sight or muzzle brake. But I'd have to drill the transfer hole out, which may be trickier than it seems.  Don't know, never done it.  Be nice to get the other half of the barrel functional because at least it wouldn't have that ugly rectangular cutout on it.
