Crosman 600 as Trainer?

Hi Everyone. My wife is telling me she wants to go for her concealed carry. I'm hoping I can use this as an excuse to get a 600 for her to get comfortable plinking before she tries the class. She's always been firearm "shy" due to some childhood stuff. Single pellet loading in my 1377 is going to be tedious and I don't want that to get in the way.

I've read here that the 600 is a blast to shoot. Has anyone used it with a novice with the goal of transitioning to a semi-auto powder pistol?? Any advice?

What kind of auto does she intend to carry?  If you want a trainer, look for a replica or as close to the actual pistol as you can get.  If you just want to have fun get the 600.  Entirely different skill sets.

I was going to suggest something along those lines also. Bigger gun, get a Witness 1911. It is exactly like a real 1911. Smaller gun? Get a Makarov, but don't get the blow back one. I get over 100 shots per cart with my Makarov. And you can shoot dbl or single actioin.

We need to keep going and have fun doing it.

mudduck, the Makarov really looks good for this. It's a little bigger than I'd like but it should work well. Sigh. No reason to buy a 600 :-(
