That's an excellent mod.  :-* I use a bolt with a magnet in the rear that holds it back against the cocking pin.  :)

Not sure of this is the way the OP is doing it but here is a picture of another way to make a bolt-hold-open mod.

I have got the bolt magnets from Crosman (2300S-001 @ $1.15ea.)  Drill the rear of the bolt & glue then in.  Of course you could just buy an extended bolt (Cothran) w/magnet already there.

I think the check ball would give a nice mechanical feel.  On the other hand, the magnet would have no wear.

All these difficult decisions to make just stress me out !!!  :D

I've never done the magnet trick ... I was always worried about "stuff" sticking to the magnet ... you know, when I take my gun and roll it in the big pile of dirt on my floor ?... ;)

ya ... I worry way TOOOOOO much ....

On the lighter side ...
I did put all stainless setscrews, button heads and grip screws in it to kinda "spruce it up a tad" ... I also made an aluminum "left handed" safety for it ...
I SWORE I wasn't going to do anything to this one except shoot it ... ya ... right ... :-X
