Hi folks. New guy here. I am looking at the Crosman custom shot and wonder if anyone coud explain the difference between the 2300KT and the 2400KT. When similarly equipped ( 14.5 in. 22 cal barrel, long steel breech and shoulder stock) the 2300KT is $13.71 more.
Thanks,

Mike

Mike,

Pretty sure the 2300 is what Crosman calls a CO2 carbine and the 2400 is what Crosman calls a CO2 rifle (includes the 1399 stock).  But as for the actual difference in the price, I don't have a clue as one would think the longer barreled 2400 would be more expensive.  ???

Crosman Custom Store prices I saw for the base models are $88.63 for the 2300 and $87.60 for the 2400.

Welcome to the forum!

The difference is in tube length.  The 2300KT is based on the 2240 tube and is primarily a pistol.  Although you can get it with a stock, there's very little area to support with your non-shooting hand.  The 2400KT is based on the longer 2250 tube and works better as a carbine, I think.  I have a 2300KT with Lothar-Walthe barrel set up as a 2300S target pistol clone, and a 2400KT carbine.  But I also have a custom 2250-based pistol with forearm that's a great plinker.  That's the great thing about these Crosman 13xx and 22xx guns, you can set them up just like you want them.

Have fun!

Ed,

While I certainly agree with what you stated about the guns the big question is, why is the base model 2300KT more expensive than the 2400KT?

Crosman Custom Store prices I saw for the base models are $88.63 for the 2300KT and $87.60 for the 2400KT.  ???

Especially since the 2400 has the longer main tube.

Okay Mike, I just re-read your post again and went to the CCS and did what you did and can not explain the difference in price for the two similar equipped guns.  Makes no sense at all.

Sorry for all the not so paying attention to your question replies.  :-[

Sure enough - for some reason known only to Crosman if you want the stock, you get a price break with the 2400KT, plus you get the forearm.  Like I said there's no other difference besides tube length.

Order the 2400KT and then call Crosman and order a 2240 tube and pistol grips.  Then you get two guns almost for the price of one.

Thanks guys. I did a little digging and found this review of the 2400KT on Pyramid Air's Airgun academy blog. Very informative.
