In yesterday's mail I received my much anticipated new aluminum side plate for the new Crosman three screw trigger frames.  It actually seems odd calling the three screw trigger frames new since they have been out since about mid year 2010.  And do any of our folks remember all the hoop-la-la that went on when Crosman changed from the two-screw to the three-screw trigger frames?  Whew...

Anyway, the piece is pretty awesome and the fit and finish on mine is super.  The finish on the outside has sort of a satin look and is nice.  Inside is typical CNC mill marks but there are no rough edges.  Don't know if there will ever be an anodized version because of so much variation in the colors of black.  Perhaps I will try throwing some satin black on mine one of these days.

The aluminum piece weighs a little more than twice the OEM plastic piece but the weight is really nothing you will never notice.

Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase even though it is a little bit expensive.  But then with all that we do to these guns, expense appears to be one of those things we just cast out the window with abandon.

Carl, thanks for the pics & the write-up.  It's one of those parts that you either "have to have" or "that's nice to know".
Really would look good on a polished gun.

Does it take up any of the trigger play?

Not really on the 1701P trigger frame as there isn't much slop in it.  Haven't tried it on the OEM frame but will do that tomorrow sometime.

It does. I had to remove the washer I had on the trigger pin.
