Without ordering the 2289 parts from Crosman, has anyone modded a standard crosman skeletonized stock to be quick detach?  Nutters are all over my bow stand and my 1322 is about 10" too long for my back pack.  If I could mod it to be qd it would give me hours of fun in the stand waiting for deer.

you just need the little top hat and spring that fit in the grip frame and any plastic ratty stock will be quick detach

Daggum it! Just put in an order from Crosman Friday.  Anyone have one they want to part with?

The spring is the same as the safety uses. Not sure what would work for the other part. Maybe a small pop rivet?

So I played with making a qd on my 1740.  I didn't like where the factory hole came out behind the stock. Left a lot of wiggle room.  So I drilled a new hole about .25" in front of the old hole and down through the tang of the stock.  I used a cut down drill stem that I had buggered up for the pin.  Found a spring at Ace for $.70 that was small enough in diameter to fit and cut to length.  It works pretty well, but there is still a lot of play.  Not enough to be bothersome in this platform, but I wouldn't do it on my P-rod or anything.  Now I kind of want to tinker with drilling a hole through the bottom and using a thumb screw of some sort, but there just isn't a lot of material to work with down there!  I'll keep messing around and report back.
Full blown Crosmaniac.

I liked the idea of the pin & the quick disconnect stock.  However the use of one for awhile caused a blister on the web between the thumb & fingers of my hand.  Guess I just griped it wrong.  I ground down the pin length and it still bothered me.
Have talked to others who have no problem with the pin.  All my stocks have grip screws only now.  Many have some masking tape on the grip frame to make a tight fit.  I don't "break them down" often, if at all so I don't miss the convenience of having a "quick disconnect".

I put a piece of foam in the bottom of the grip, makes it fit tighter.

had the same thing happen to me.
I would suggest just don't use any screws or pins. It is still sturdy enough to make an accurate shot, that's what I ended up doing
