I had it from two different sources that the 2240 was going the way of the dinosaur. Then I got a new 1399 stock and it stated that the stock also fit oblolete models and the 2240 was listed in that bunch.

Today I was on the phone with Crosman and happened to remember, so I asked. The guy seemed genuinely surprised. He said it was one of the best sellers and he had nothing of the sort! So there you have it. Hmmm.... now about that 1399 box. I wonder what is up with that??

Just in case, I bought a 100 2240's to hedge my bets  :D ;D ;D ;D  (no, not really)

WOW - that IS surprising. Perhaps show us the verbiage of the box?

It really would be surprising to see Crosman discontinue the 2240.  Not only is it the best selling CO2 pistols,  the mods that Crosman supports through the Custom Shop would be hard to replace.
I would like to see an upgraded 2240 replacement, but it would probably be no better than the CAPOF members have been able to build.

On the back of the box under the picture of the stock, it states:
"Will also fit the following obsolete models: 1322, 1300, 150, 157, 130, 2240, and 1740"

I have seen so many errors and inconsistencies in Crosman descriptions that this is not a surprise.   The lack of product knowledge is not at all limited to Crosman.   Employees of many companies simply do not know much of their job duties.   It is interesting how much gets out that is in error.      ??? :( ???

I'm sure there could be some upgrades to the basic model, to bring it up to date. But one of the joys is the opportunity for customisation.

???  That would not make any Sense to drop one of the best selling air pistols they make !  ??? ??? ???  You never know with big co. anymore.

I don't want to believe it and the Crosman guy says it isn't so, but.................
Just take a look at what is happening with all of the major players..... the switch is on to hpa and away from co2. 1077 & the 850 come to mind. I am betting there are some GREEN people with influence in those companies. Bad PR to be a player in encouraging Co2 use and destroying the ozone?

I guess its just my 70's paranoid ghost coming back to haunt me  ;D

heck, even Daisy just admitted to someone the other day of discontinuing all of their SSP line... The side lever pistols and the under lever rifles are not discontinued after Gamo got ahold of things...

But I think Crosman is more stable than Daisy, Daisy hasn't come up with anything new forever... their last new release was the re release of the 25 I think... everything else has been in place since the 80's for the most part with cheapening of materials since then...
