Was in Oregon over the weekend at the State FT Championship and there on a table lie an old 1970's Crosman 1300 Medalist II completely intact for $25
Not holding air we bartered and it came home for a $20  ;) ;)

While it had indeed been shot quite a bit in a former life nothing structurally was screwed up.
I dismantling ALL the o-rings and seals were hard as old boot leather with brass being well oxidized.
Being no parts really exist any longer got creative and made a o-ring sealed compression check valve, internally used SAE & Metric o-rings to get it sealed up.
Biggest issue the strike bonnet with its internal 008 quad ring ... tried a 008 o-ring and it would not seal. Going to similar tho larger metric o-ring and we get it to seal up and take " Some" compression pressure   ??? ... damn, pump cup is too hard as well, so ... over to the lathe making up a dual O-ring style threaded head/plunger assembly.
Back together for a test ... OUTSTANDING we get progressively more difficult pumps telling me we have air tight integrity now.

All said a complete cleaning of brass guts, lube and required long over due maintenance we have a shooting 1300 !!

Cool little auto cocking pistol it is & a .22 caliber too.

If it's not broken then modify it!

always worth repairing the old ones
what size metric quad did you use Scott be handy as I've a 140 that is tempremental on the quad seal

I like the 1300, I have 3 working and 1 for parts. :)
We need to keep going and have fun doing it.

Did not use a metric quad ... but a 70 duro Buna-n 2mm x 4mm o-ring.  Lubed with ulitmox 226 to get it slippery it resets just fine.
