Did I miss this totally or is it new ?

Just got the new Pyramyd Air catalog and on page 45 it has the 2240XL with
steel breech and a threaded end cap ( barrel )
for $99

Interesting - but I wish they would learn how to thread a barrel.   That adapter (as with the Maximus) adds length.

It is possible to thread these 7/16" barrels.    Obviously not to 1/2"x20tpi, but I have done 7/16"x32tpi.

Nice that they added the steel breech, but it would have been even better to include some sort of open sights ( or at least a front sight pin).

Doesn't the 2300T come with a rear Williams site? That popped the price up in the $200. range. I think they probably wanted to avoid to high a cost, but since people have been asking for a 2240 with a steel breech for years the $100 price tag seems about right.
BTW: I like the new look grips. Should be a prime candidate for bondo filling?

about time they did this and put the old plastic breech to bed
for a threaded barrel 10x1 is a good choice as you can get ldc's that are threaded that for the cp2(storm rider to you lads) and adapters to convert to 1/2"x20 are easy to get in the UK

Very glad to see this new offering from Crosman. It is worth the price, but the fact that the adapter is permanently affixed to the barrel is a spoiler for me personally.
