These days, I am practicing one-handed shooting with both eyes open.
It is a quite challenge.. with my 2.6 lbs. 2300S.
Good news is; I see the improving day by day...

Will it be improved by dumbbell exercise?

My gun also needs diet. Back to the plastic breech?

I wouldn't go back to plastic.

The question of more vs less weight seems to be a personal choice. Balance is probably more important. Technique is ultimately the most important. And, of course, practice, practice, practice!

Interestingly, I feel I shoot better one-handed. I try to shoot both eyes open, but I catch myself squinting. Subconsciously, maybe it makes me feel like Clint Eastwood.  8)

When I look the 10 m competition pistols, they are all weigh around~2 lbs. or some model  weighs 1.5 lbs.. .
I dissembled 2300S and weigh each part. and I noticed steel breech is the heaviest among.

Yes I agree, weight is personal.. But my arms get soring after shots..That was the reason I was thinking dieting or dumbbel

If you're convinced reducing the weight will help, you might also consider an aluminum breech. I suggest you give it some time, though. Free weights won't hurt, but you can also do a lot of dry firing to work on the other factors.

P. S. (WARNING: TMI) I'm no stranger to pain so I can relate. Many of us here are... chronologically advanced. Just before this damned pandemic, I got hit with polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR). I can't adequately describe the pain in both shoulders and both hips. They put me on prednisone, which helped. Then the pandemic. I decided deliberately suppressing my immune system wasn't the smartest thing to do during a pandemic so I took myself off the steroid. The good news is it's only supposed to last two or three years. The bad news is there's no future in getting old. I won't even get started on the tiny black ring that appeared in my right eye. But it happens, too.

Where can I get this? I thought it would be nice if someone made titanium breech.

Here's a few:

I agree. Titanium would be nice. But it would probably be very expensive, too.

Ill-fitting breech.

Reason why I donated mine to this forum 2 months ago.

If someone would give me one for free I will donate it again.

Good weight though, but the bolt does  not sit well on the notch.

Mine also had ugly dings despite telling Baker to handpick one for me.

I hope Mr. Don Cothran makes them in aluminum.

That gent is one of my favorite machinists aside from Mr. Al/Gipetto  :-*

Is that the case with all of them? I considered getting an aluminum breech. Then I considered I'm old and I think too much.

There are two issues in the Aluminum breeches, for my 2300S.

There is no dovetail for the rear sight.. Williams sight or LPA MIM
Breech screw location is at front location, not hidden rear location,, so I have to learn crayon melting things... :(

I would rather choose on dumbbel exercise,
Thanks again for the link  :)

Two things that you might want to try for improving your one-handed shooting:

Get a "Prohands" heavy tension (or maybe medium to start) exerciser by Gripmaster.  Work your way up to at least 50 repetitions to increase your grip strength.  It also strengthens your forearm.

Try dry fire exercise with a wrist weight on your shooting hand.  I use a 1.5 lb. weight once or twice a week when dry firing with a 1911 pistol.  You'll be amazed at how light your pistol feels without the wrist weight when you're actually shooting.

Old bullseye shooting training aids.   ;)

Addicted to handguns:
S&W revolvers (7), 1911 design semi-autos (9), and now Crosman air pistols!

Thank you for the tip. I already use "Prohands" for a long time.. Actually my another hobby is playing bass. Strong finger and independency is very important for a bassist.

I will try with the plastic bag from grocery , filled with heavy stuff, then put it on the fore arm...
