Here is something i have noticed when browsing for spares.

The benjamin discovery barrel is offered in both .22 and .177, so is the 2260s barrel.
The parts numbers does not match though.
2260 p/n :
.177 1760-001
.22 2260-003

Discovery p/n :
.177 1760SE-001
.22 2260SE-001

The benji barrels seem to be a bit more pricey also, with a 35 gbp vs 37,5 gbp difference.

Does anyone know if the price is the main difference or are the disco barrels different in some way?.

crosman vs benjamin = lee vs levi .the same only different  ??? ;) :)
TOO many freaks and NOT enough circuses

Well, they seem the same, many parts from a disco match those of a 2260, but it would seem the barrels of a 300 dollar pcp rifle would be subject to more strict quality inspections than those of a 79 dollar co2 rifle?.

Does anyone know the spesific difference in these seemingly identical barrels?.

If the OD is the same that just leaves the transfer port location in question, doesn't it? I'm interested in finding out the answer myself.

Mike- it would not surprice me if they did, although the parts number suggest a updated version ???

If my lothar walther barrel takes too long to get here i might get a hold of one disco barrel for comparison and break out my measuring calipers  :-*

My 2400kt 24" barrel worked very well with a disco hp conversion, I think they are probably the same.  It shoots accurately at 100 yds.

i'm not sure if there is a sleeve over the barrel on the breech end on the dico or if it's a thicker part of the barrel itself, but on my dad's .22 cal disco the first 3" or so of the barrel is thicker where the rear sight mounts, and the breech has a larger opening for the barrel to go into because of this. i'll get a pic up to show what i'm talking about.

squirrelsniper

heres a pic, note the first 3 inches of the disco barrel, its thicker where is goes into the breech, this might be the major difference (sorry about the quality, my camera is horrible)

i just looked at it again, i think it is a sleeve

Stian17722

Sounds like a sleeve indeed, looking at the parts diagram it is 1761-013.

If the external diameter of the barrel is the same as crosmans at 11 mm the disco breech would have a bigger internal diameter...

I think the sleeve secures ups the barrel better.but not sure.

the disco breech is different than the crosman steel breech.it uses the rear screw location and accepts the sleeve
