After reading about the Topic of the 2260 being "History", I sent a message to Crosman vis their Contact page, 2011-07-22 :

"It has been noticed by many for the past while that Crosman has been phasing out some of their products.  The AirSource 88-gram pellet rifle line, and most recently the base 2260 rifle.  While you've retained the "2260SE", which is quite a bit higher in price over the basic 2260.  There has been a lot of speculation as to why Crosman has been doing this.  Does Crosman plan on introducing a new line of CO2 pellet-firing rifles/pistols, or just culling out the CO2 market?  Since Crosman has long been strong in the CO2 market, I would hope that you would continue to offer some fine CO2 air rifle and pistols."

While sitting here and going through my emails, I see they have responded back to me :

Ticket #: 65963?

You are correct in noting that our CO2 rifle line has decreased and many models are no longer offered however we still have plenty of CO2 powered pistols. Currently there are no known plans to introduce any new CO2 rifles this year however we recommend to check our website often for any new developments.

Thank you,
Angel
It ain't like it used to be but, eh, it's do.

with what they have and have been selling those are their bread and butter guns --- the ones that aren't selling so well are probably the ones being cut from their line
TOO many freaks and NOT enough circuses

I hope the Crosman 'Angel' isn't thinking/classing a BB gun as a replacement for a pellet gun. That would be disappointing.... IMHO

Only cause she says 'Co2 Powered'....but doesn't specify.  ???

I love that Paul Capello's reviews, though a bit slanted to sell some guns, you can usually read between the lines!

Yeah, that's a sweet rifle. At Xmas I couldn't decide at the time which to get. The Umarex storm or the airmagnum.
I went for the 30 shot plinker for fun in the end but I do keep looking at these. You can get them in wood too.

Got the Co2 adaptor, just need the rifle. One day.......

BTW they do it in .22 I wasn't sure if the vid mentioned it. I just heard him saying he was shooting in .177  ???  :-*

just to tease you http://www.the850store.com/ :P :P ;D ;D :)

Yep, I think that is the place to buy one and get the tune for $125. Still looking at a rifle under 400. Problem with the wood stocks is that it says it is discountinued  :(
Bet Bishop or Corcoran would still make one special order, but the price might make it prohibitive to most, at leat it does me.
