In case anyone is interested, Crosman has 450 units in stock as of this morning.  Make sure to call in your order for the $4 shipping costs....as opposed to about $11 if you order online!

Thanks for that heads-up.  That's an excellent sight if you can use open sights.  Me, my old eyes need something different.

Thanks for the heads up on shipping. When I ordered my steel breech I choked on the $12 shipping and almost backed out. Why would they give you an incentive to call in an order when they are set up for online ?

My guess is for web site order, Crosman uses a vendor called sportinggoodsfulfillment.com.  Maybe a part of Crosman, maybe a third party fulfillment company to run the online ordering site. So my guess is they need a cut from the order and it comes through "handling", whereas when you call Crosman direct, they ship direct their custom shop...just a guess though.

I'm trying to keep with open sight when I can.  But like you i have issues with the eyes, biggest one is trifocals at the moment.  The trifocal lines tend to fall right on the front post making it hard to focus clearly on the sight.  with my glasses off, i can focus the sights just fine, problem is I can't see where the shot hits the target. :)

I've got both the Wiliams notch sight and now the LPA coming.  The Williams is on the 2240 and the LPA is going to go on the 1377.  So far I can shoot just about as well with the open sights as I can with the red dot.  However, I seem to shoot more consistent with the red dot sight as I'm still trying to get the open sight picture burned into memory.

A little off topic...Will the LPA sights fit on a Crosman steel breech? My wife seems to prefer iron sights to optical sights and I will be receiving a .22 steel breech for her 2240 tomorrow. If the LPA will fit, I am calling Crosman tomorrow, and delaying the installation of the steel breech.

LPA will fit the Crosman steel breech.  Not a problem.

Gents,
What's the secret to getting the $4 shipping on a breech or LPA sight?  I called in an order a couple weeks ago, and was told that I couldn't add any of the website products (including breech and sight) to my order. ..... She hedged a little and said something about SOMETIMES she could do that.... but this time, "no".
Ideas?

Mike,

I'm thinking the $4 shipping charge only applies to parts from all the Crosman EVPs.  I believe the LPA sight is an accessory and does not fall into that category.  Just a guess on my part but it seems reasonable.

No way to use these on the stock 1377 breech is there ?

quickster47 †

No because the the LPA is a reverse dove tail that slides in the groove on the new breech.

The plastic breech only has a flat spot and is made for the OEM rear sight.

Carl/Quickster47,

That seems to be the case.  I had to place two orders - one for parts off the EVPs ($4 shipping), plus a second website order with a separate $11 shipping charge.  Not a huge deal, but I just wondered if I was going about it wrong.

Thanks again.

Is there any other source for the LPA sights?

It appears that there are a lot of sources.  I just did a quick search online and came up with these:
www.sdcustomdesign.com/parts.htm
www.gmaccustomparts.com/LPA-min-open-sight
www.dlairgun.com/Crosman-Accessories.html - Canada
www.pyramydair.com/blog/.../how-to-shoot-at-elevated-targets.html
I didn't follow any of the links so they could just be reviews.
Also, on LPA's own website
www.lpasights.com/
they list
PSI
(Seymour, CT)
Tel. (203) 262-6484 - Fax (203) 262-6562
www.precisionsalesintl.com
as their USA distributor.

Pyramyd doesn't carry it and the others are international.  I was looking for one in the US.  I guess I can pick up another steel breech too.  You never know when you'll need another one of those.
