Ya so thinking I can do a trigger job on my brand spankin new 2400kt I got today, I didn't think to look up any information on how to pull it apart. At first I thought everything went good polished the trigger blade and all contact area's, lubed everything up with a touch of moly and put it back together.. that's when I realize the safety was wrong, after a quick google search seems I little ball on the end of the spring fell out..

Awesome, are there any diy home made cures to this problem ?

Ouch, yeah that's the biggie there. Gotta take it apart right-side up. That ball is SMALL! One reason I ordered up another 1377 the other day. I also built a work tray that would catch that sorta thing. I can almost guarantee you would never find that ball on say a carpet or anything. Sounds like an order to Crosman is in order unfortunately. Never seen a ball that small before. :( At least you did not shoot the rear cap into the wall like I did. Even though Crosshairs video said to hold on to it I forgot to. That came out with some force and the spring rolled under the closet door and the bookshelf. Took me forever to find it. Ugh.

If so it would be nice to get a shell full of those. I almost lost mine a few times. :)

If you have a bicycle repair shop nearby, walk in and ask for several 3/32" ball bearings.  They might not even charge you for them.

Could you not use a 4.5mm BB? I have thousands of those,if you can it wont bother me if I lose one or two

eric

a pin head from say a dress shirt works
TOO many freaks and NOT enough circuses

JEBert

Popeye,
You aren't trolling are you?  Gotta be a reason Crosman didn't use a regular BB for the safety.
You want it in Metrics?  4.5mm would be almost twice as big (actually about .010" shy) as 3/32".  3/32" is 2.38mm.   There may not be enough meat in there to drill it out for a BB to fit.  You would need a bigger spring too.  A ball-point pen spring would be about the right size but probably not strong enough.
In inches, 3/32" is .093".  #7 1/2 birdshot is .95".  #8 birdshot is .9.  Those are specs for lead birdshot.  I don't think lead would last very long as a safety ball.  The groove in the safety would chip it down pretty quickly.
#7 steel shot is listed as being .10" in the sheet I found online.  If one of those is to tight, I am pretty sure you could drill out the slot for it to work with a #37 or 36 drill bit.  I would go looking for 3/32" ball bearings before I went to buy a new #37 drill bit unless I needed the bit for other stuff.  A 6-32 tap for aluminum might come with a #36 bit.

@JEBert since I have only just got a 2240(my first ever) my question was genuine as I have not seen the BB in my gun let alone measure it,silly question maybe trolling NO!

Crosshairs

Mike you can use a ball key chain you no the small chain with all the little balls linked together.

Have you already torn this down? You only had it for 5 hours or so. LOL Hope you find the BB. Merry Christmas.

Shotgun shot may be the right size but it is lead so won't be as durable as a steel bearing.
