Is a hammer spring guide necessary?  I have a disco hammer spring from crosman about to arrive for my 1322.  Should a toss in some sort of guide like a nylon screw or something?  If anyone has a hammer spring guide let me know what you think and what you used.  And feel free to show pictures.  Thanks

it keeps the spring from binding and bending when you use a power adjuster to put preload on the hammer spring.. i have 2 of them due for delivery on tuesday
.22 disco, leapers 3-12x40 IR AO
.22 ccs 2400, leapers 4x32 (awaiting barrel swap & 7.5tko)
.22 gamo bigcat, rds
.177 walther 99q, low profile laser sight

Without a power adjuster is it useless?  I'm wondering for my 1322 which is  a pumper and wouldn't need a power adjuster.

No it's not useless. Some can act as a small preload to the spring.
Or if you have a particular spring then it may just hep it stay aligned on compression.

You can make one out of almost anything.... well almost! A pen or a large nail (cutdown and shaped to fit) for example.

The only thing is to make it short enough to allow the hammer to be retracted into the cocked position.
Double-tap!

Ok.  I think I will toss one in.  I'll find something at lowes that will work.   Thanks for the replies!
