I am thinking about a upgraded breech for my 2240, I haven't done much but refined the stock trigger which really works well now, changed front site, Mellon bolt and should have new J Austin grips this week! I have searched this and a few other forums about breech updateds I was looking at the Crooked Barn Multi Breech but can't find much about it only the CB ultimate breech, which is discontinued. I am trying to decide between the CB Multi and Crosman steel, but my screw hole is toward the front of loading area and need to know how that is addressed, will the Crosman steel breech work with the front hole location on my 2240 and from the picture of the CB Multi the hole appears to be in the rear?
I have many air guns, tuned springers, PCP, CO2, and this 2240 is as much fun as any, I can't believe how accurate it is pretty much stock! I like the single shot and feel, it is very fun and great in my indoor range at 15yds. My original plan was to see how good I could get it without putting much money in it, but now I like it so much I have had custom grips made and thinking bout breech upgrade and red dot. Just want to get the breech question resolved.

The long steel breech (6") kits, from Crosman, has the has the front breech screw located were the pellet is loaded.
The short steel breech(4"), from Crosman, has the front breech screw located under the bolt ( the new ones).

From my understanding, the short breech is CCS part only. If you can order the CCS short breech, they maybe able to add a front breech screw hole unpon request, or have the older short breech with the breech screw hole located in the pellet area.

The 1377SBPK (.177 cal) and 2240SBPK (.22 cal) have the front breech srew hole located in the pellet loading area.

Other members will have to chime in on the other breeches. From what I've read most, if not all, of the other breech makers will place the front screw hole based on what airgun you have.

Thanks, I did email CB and they responded, said I just need to order with front screwhole, I still cannnot find anything about the CB multi breech thought, seems odd, lots of ultimate breech info.

Yes thanks, I found it on the CB website, I just haven't found any reviews or feedback from any of the forums.

The multi breech must be new...at least I don't remember seeing it before.  If you get one please write a review.
