Day before yesterday I bought some .22 cal Air Arms Diabolo Field's for the P-rod. I was in a hurry when I bought them, as I actually went into the shop for something else but since I saw them there I thought they would have to be worth a go. I seemed to recall somebody recently giving the thumbs up to this combination, pellet vs gun, but I swear he said the pellets were 18+ grains. The tins I bought had 1.037 grams on them and not doing my mathematics at the time. I thought "ahh that will be them". Now I see that works out at 16 gr. The pellets look well made but I wish I had have slown down at the time and worked it out in my mind first, as I did want 18 grainers... Not all is lost though... I grabbed them and ran (oh, I did pay for them) and looking at the price I was a little horrified that they were so expensive. "Oh well, if you want good stuff you gotta pay for them", I thought.. Looking at them and their price after I got home I sort of began to smart, thinking "that IS quite expensive"... Then I noticed the labelling on the tin - 500 pcs... Now I am a little happier, as all the other .22's I have bought are in either 200 or 250 lots...

Can anybody give me an appraisal on the pellets...???

I can't speak for the .22, but the .177 version is very accurate in most all of my Crosman pistols.

I just picked up a tin of the 16 gr. Looking forward to trying them in several guns.

Unless you are thinking of returning them, your gun will give you the best evaluation of the pellets.

Thanks guys...

At the very least I thought being Air Arms they "should" be worth keeping and yes JEBert, good thinking, that is the consummate answer... At first I was thinking that the P-rod appears to like pellets a little on the heavier side and most of what I've read seemed to suggest that about 18gr is a good starting point and certainly you wont go wrong with Baracudas but they are 21 gr and that might slow things down just a bit, so you're right,, you're all right, I'll simply try them out...
