Lubing trigger and sear???

Should you lube the trigger and sear and if you can will transmission fluid work?

I lube mine with a dab of Moly Paste after polishing the contact points. Transmission fluid probably will wear off s well as other fluids. I like grease better in this area.

Same here, once I started tweaking springers got hold of moly and used it for the 13xx & 22xx trigger contat points eversince

Molybdenum disulfide molecule bonds with the metal
Prevents wear and galling on all metal-to-metal surfaces

That will probably be fine. Heck, you could use Pellgun oil. When you note a change in the feel of the tirgger, you will know it is time to lube again.

I was using white lithium grease on my trigger group. I recently purchased 1 oz. of moly paste and use that now.

I just received that moly paste this week. It is a dark grey and has the consistancy of a light grease. It stays put where you smear it.

I just got a huge tub from auto zone and it looks Identical.  :-*

They also have Moly in White, a little more money $6 something and the Grey/black was $4 something.

I have read that some of the moly you get in auto parts stores contain very little of the main ingredient. For our purposes, it likely is not that important. Maybe on a springer the additional concentration of moly in the paste does make a difference.

Exactly, What's five bucks when it's a $100-500 AG we are trying to correctly lube and protect.  :-*
