When firing my 2240 many times I will not exhaust my CO2 prior to putting my gun away in it's case, as I'm sure some of you do as well........my new 2240 does not appear to have any issue with leaks, so assuming no issues there how long would a charge hold in the gun?  Of course I'm using the Crosman 12 Gram CO2 Cartridges.

should hold for months atleast until there is a leak

I have a related question...is it bad to leave a cartridge in the gun?  Will it wear out the seal faster?  I dont always want to shoot til it's empty and it would be nice if I could spread it over a couple days.

A couple of days is not an issue at all, nor is a couple of weeks.  If your gun sets for a couple of months with a partially filled cartridge in it, you aren't shooting enough!!   :(
