Well, had a heck of a day outside ripping roof off conservatory for a new one tomorrow so thought this evening I'd have a bit of 'man time' in the shed.
Found a lump of 1/4" brass, marked it out and after 2 hours of hacksaw, file, pedestal drill and finally emery cloth and brasso, I have a new trigger. I don't condone using the drill with an end mill bit unless you really know what you're doing and have taken relative precautions. Just found it the quickest way to slim down the hinge and 'business' end to fit the trigger unit on the 2240. Polished up, too late to fit so I'll reassemble everything tomorrow pm. The sharp eyed amongst you will see the trigger is pushed forwards to improve reach as I have large hands. Next job will be a new grip, hopefully a nice bit of walnut I felled 20 or so years ago and still have ageing in my mums garage.

Cheers all,
IGK

Nice work on the trigger!
You were able to get it further out without having to cut off the trigger guard. Nice work! I bet you could sell that trigger to a lot of people....The extra distance looks a lot more comfortable to shoot with.

Nice work, I love fabrication. Just received a mill bit I ordered three weeks ago (china). Using it on a drill press and yes, you need to be careful  :)
