That you guys are e friendliest forum bunch I've ever met. Most other forums, whether it be for Linux or coffe or whatever, if you ask a question that's been asked in the past, you usually get something like, "USE THE $&?@ SEARCH FUNCTION!!! WHY DO SO MANY $@?& IDIOTS HAVE TO ASK THE SAME ?&@$! QUESTION ALL THE $@&!?@ TIME?!?!" But not you guys. You just kindly and politely answer the question as if it had never been asked before.

I figure if all we did when we come to a forum was use the search function, then it would be a wiki and we would lose the social aspect. We also don't do this in real life by telling someone to, "GO READ A $@&!? ENCYCLOPEDIA!!! THAT QUESTION WAS ASKED 50 YEARS AGO BY SOMEONE 1000X SMARTER THAN YOU!!!"

i tell people to use the search function when the answer they want is a long answer
it also helps answer other questions they havent thought of or that slipped their mind.there could more beneficial info in an old post
i'll use the search function and the answer the op is looking for is the first thread that pops up in the search
if i cant find the info i need in a search then ill post a question
if everyone used the search function the same questions wouldnt get asked time and time again.
to use the search function here it has to be done from the main page to get all the info it can turn up
