Ted Williams was Crosman's Sponsor for steel & wood airguns, from $12 to $34  :-*

Now, we have Jim Shockey?  ??? with $1300 plastic guns with LCD read-outs?  :D

I'm not sayin but...I'm just sayin!  ;D

To be honest, until I saw Jim Shockey in the Crosman ads, I'd never heard of him. And to illustrate that, when Eva Shockey started appearing more I thought, "Damn that old hunter has a trophy wife to go along with all the game he's taken down".

I guess this shows how guns and shooting have fallen out of grace in pop culture these days.  You'd never catch a "celebrity" admitting he/she shoots now.

Yeah I eventually figured that out. I'm guessing she takes after the mother.

Lol, love that Daisy ad!  Seriously, if I were to walk around my yard with any kind of firearm now, the neighbor would call 911 and I'd have SWAT over for a visit.

And two more that you sure wouldn't see today...

One from Crosman and one more for the girls...  :D  ;) :-*

Stan Musial & Nellie Fox were also Sports figures who were in Crosman Ads.  I'd post a couple pics, but given the overlap of changing, I think it can wait till Brutuz gets done.
It ain't like it used to be but, eh, it's do.

a lot of ads have changed in the last few decades
i remember the marlbro ads havent seen a smoking comercial in a very long time
tv has changed a lot also
whats up with the "reality shows"?
seems like they have filled the gap since talkshows have faded away
closed mouths dont get fed

Cigs and hard liquor got banned years ago from TV ads, you don't see many wine adverts either come to think of it, but I don't think they got banned. Funny thing is... the FCC ban was over the air transmissions, not cable, so why no Seagrams Vo commercials on Fox news, followed by a good Cubano cigar ad?  :D

1377: "reality shows" ... ya, it's ridiclulous when you consider the logos of the cable channels that air these stupid (and I mean backwoods, gradu-tated 3rd grade, meet my sister, aunt, wife, kinda stooooopid!)  :D

TLC = The Learning Channel, really? ...Swamp People? My Redneck Vacation? Baggage Wars? and worse yet... A&E = Arts & Entertainment and they do neither but, they do have Parking Wars, and Ice Road Truckers (doesn't every episode have the same guy in the beat-up Kenworth with the Mullett and bad teeth, with just a different colored wife beater t-shirt on?)  ;D

Of course, you can always switch over to MTV 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and MTV Intl. for Meet The Kardashians and get a dose of ethics, morals and motherly guidance  ;)
