Looking in my stash today for some washers to take the play out of the trigger and shim on a 1377 and I could not find anything that was workable without a lot of trouble (sanding down the thickness). I was going to need something around .020" +/- .005".

So, off to search the net!

Came across these, what do you guys think?

McMaster-Carr

shims for shafts and bearings
copper,brass and bronze
.125" I.D.

There's thickness from .002 - .016", 10 per pack for $6.90 (less shipping).

Part number's 93268A302 - 311

Sorry....can't get a link to work  ???

It would be a bit of an investment but you sure could get that tight, no slop tolerance with an assortment of sizes.

If you can get hold of a white plastic milk bottle you can make sensational washers.  The inside of the jug is very slick.  I happen to have an 1/8" leather punch, and that helps a lot for the center hole, though it doesn't need to be perfect to work well.  Have fun, it's a worthwhile project. RC

If you can get the bronze ones thin enough they should work pretty good!

Most hardware stores have bags of brass washers the correct size. If you are a little thick with two per pin just lightly remove a little material from the frame boss to make a bit more room,

Very cool, thanks!  I'm going to try that now.
