I've got a couple of chronies, and if I was to start all over again, I'd buy a simple basic model if all you want to do is get velocities. One of mine has all sorts of options and buttons to click etc and I got a bit confused. At the end of the day, I just wanted some figures for ballistics programs and to just see what was happening. Never used an memories or strings. I just write'em down in my notebook...

I guess you could just dot the results down then create an excel file making graphs or whatever. I remember seeing posts with graphs but I'm not sure if they were from the chrony printer or a computer printer.

I have the F1 and write down all of my numbers by hand. A printer would be a big help. The chrono connect is something I want to try out someday, but with temps in the mid to high 90's and high humidity a lot of the year, I worry about bringing my laptop outside for the sessions.

I thought it would store the info until you hook the pc up. I need to research these things and get one with all the projects I have going on.

FYI and mine... The Gamma will save 1000 shots in memory.

The printer takes regular paper (like an adding machine), so cheap and easy to get.  The ink roller is a Casio IR-30 / IR-40 or equivalent as is used for cash registers, ATM's etc. and they are approx. $5 each or less over the net. Comes with a 6 volt wall wart, but also takes 4 AA batteries (thankyouverymuch).  The printer connects to the chrony with an included 12 foot cable. It will print velocities as you shoot and/or afterwards.  When done, push button, and Printer gives statistics, such as: LO, HI and Average velocity, Extreme Spread and Standard Deviation. Attach to target or file. It is a document. Printer also functions as a Remote Control . Weight: 1 lbs.; 4" x 7.5" x 1.75" high.

All good stuff and well thought out, I'd say.  We will just see.  :)
