Hey

Saturday i've shot my 2240 over a chrony 3 times results: 173 171 174 m/s is that any good?

That is very fast (567 fps) for a 2240. Is it stock, or did you do some performance modifications? A stock 2240 probably shoots in the 430-450 fps range.

Hey

I changed the barrel 18 inch .177, steel breech, power-adjuster, and i use a stock, and a 3-9x40 hawke ao hd sport reticle mildot scope on it  :)

Picture of it:

Must say it's even accurate on 15 meters :)

That makes more sense, particularly since is is .177, not .22. Good numbers and appears pretty accurate from your description. Good job!!

forgot..

also used a seal from a lighter on top of the air connection from the pistol to the breech.

I believe it helps a lot, before i had every now and then little pufs of air in my face while shooting, that has never happened again sinds i placed that seal there.

Do you have trouble mounting the breech flush onto your tube with that o ring?  I've always thought that might be a good idea, but it's tight in there as it is.

Is that a Cricket lighter? (I know it is not a Bic)  I see where GMAC has added an o-ring for that very purpose to their sets.

The o-ring is from any cheap, disposable, flame adjustable lighter.

Is it preferable to take the virgin o-ring from a new lighter?  Or is it better after it has been flame tempered?  ;) ;D

I shot the lighte first when it was filled up  :-\

Didn't had any trouble mounting the breech back on, had to tighten the screws a bit harder. But it worked perfect.

Very happy with the results, and for the price of the lighter it was a cheap one  ;)

I don't know. ???

If lighter is used properly, it never gets hot. ;D

I get empty ones from family and friends. I recycle the flints into my Zippo, o-rings and springs for pellet guns.

Davio

+1 on the flint salvaging fro Zippos.  Those flints are grade A usually. :)
