Might have to order a 1322 and 1701P trigger group. :-*
I can't remeber how bad the stock trigger was, except for the stiff sear spring, since I've modded my triggers!

Yes, Crosmanitis is back.
How bad? I've bidded on parts, inquired about a vintage gun for sale, and I'm make a list for Crosman (parts and a 1322)! :o :( ;D

yeaaa, I'm eat up with Crosmanitis real bad here today!

I've got the grip frame project going that need lots of parts that I don't have funds for this month, waiting on a DC Machine order and a 2400KT from the CCS.... yep, life is good :)
Long days and pleasant nights to you...

On this same hijacking subject... I saw the older price list on a sticky for some Crosman parts.  Is it not a good idea to quote the prices we have just paid for something from them?

Reason I'm saying this: Other than the two CCS guns I bought, today was my first order for parts.  I had my little list (8 parts) and called them out and she gave me the price.  We continued down the list, she added the $4 and told me I'd get my stuff in 1-2 weeks.  IOW, I had no idea what the parts would cost ahead of time.  Not a big deal, but just different experience not having published prices (and I don't know why).  Maybe they don't want to take the time to maintain that database?  ???

I do know that there are no 2260 tubes to be had today.  ;)

Can't say enough about the 1701P trigger. Just so darn sweet compared to a 2240 or 1377. Put your order in today. It is worth the wait and the extra work as Carl outlined in his posts.

Rich
I'll probably end up with a 1701P trigger group for my 2300S *but* if I can mess with it a little more and get it as good as my 2240 I'll pass on it and just be happy with what I have.

This 2240 feels great the way it's tweaked right now.  I have a Rekord trigger on my Weihrauch and a pretty darn nice trigger on my Izzy 46M so I know what a difference a good trigger makes.  I can shoot this 2240 without thinking about the trigger at all, which is what I look for.  Despite setting up the 2300S almost exactly the same way there's still a hint of creep.

There's also the fact that at some point I'll get bored with having two almost identical pistols and sell one--the 2240--so I'll probably quit dumping money into it.  I'm hoping to pick up another nice airgun soon and need to save my pennies. :)

At the "quoted price" of 40-70 bucks I'd just as soon buy another 2240 and have fun tweeking till I get a trigger that works for me.

If I want something more I'll spend my money on a Izzy 46M. To me that's the ultimate pistol  8)

Besides, it's a lot of fun trying to come up with tweeks that are new and only cost a couple of bucks ... and lots of time.

I'm thinking that way, too.  But I do admit to liking the spring spacer and nut well enough on the 2300 and 2400 that I ordered those parts for the next "bits and pieces" gun (probably a stubby).  Came to $13.63  ;)

It may not be the ultimate but I'm pretty sure it's the nicest I'll ever own.  I had to sell a few firearms to get mine.

I agree that if I can get there on the 2300S trigger by tweaking then that's the way to go.  It's being a lot more stubborn than the 2240.  Maybe I'll just swap grip frames. :)

That's funny.  I just pulled the spring adjuster off my 2300S and sold a couple extras in the classifieds.  I was finding that I could get a smoother pull without it.  The adjusters are cool but I couldn't find a lighter spring that would fit over them.  The springs I'm using are smaller in diameter.

Fun trying though!

Maybe it is better that I don't know the difference!  Ignorance is bliss?  ;)

Nah, you just keep messing with it until you find something that works well for you.  :-*

i was thinking the same thing when i got my 2240 and hated the trigeer luckily i stumbled upon a p-rod grip frame
once you try it you will not want any other trigger for your xman pistols
you can spend 40+shipping on a cothran trigger or less for the p-rod trigger tyd do the math.i bet even with the cothran trigger its still mushy
