Found a few number generators on the web and kinda like sbcrockett's idea. One last detail, what about a tie? Suggestions?

Because if nobody guesses the exact number it goes to the closest guess. If someone guesses one number below and someone else guesses one number higher we would have a tie.

i got confused when the random number generator was mentioned.i have seen them used for raffles.it would be a first to it used used to pick a number .its a good idea.
i had a giveaway cant remember if it was herr or a firearm forum all i remember is it was for a part..i gave everybody who entered a number in the order they responded.i used the random generator to pick the winner
is that what you are going to pick a number with?
if so then now i get it,i just assumed you had a number pre picked
now im inspired to do another giveaway i have to look and see what i have
saturdays coming up fast

Random number generators are not random. That's why mega-jackpot lotteries use numbered balls.

That was the original idea but a video of the number being picked is a bit more exciting and is better for the integrity of the contest.

None of my business, really, but if you want exciting... maybe put all the numbers on a wall and bring somebody in blindfolded with a Crosman gun and let them take a shot.  Whatever number is closest to the hole wins.  Film the whole thing.   

Or put all the numbers in a pinata. Shoot it with a Crosman gun until one readable number falls out (might take awhile), then another.  Film THAT!
