As long as its less than 700 fps, with the exception of .177, It's not a firearm. If that potato launcher is over 700 fps, you have to have a FOID card to possess it.

If its over .18 AND 700fps it's a firearm regardless of propulsion. You have to have a FOID.

Important point, they are not banned, it's just a definition used to determine if you have to have a FOID card issued from Illinois. Ie. register your name address etc plus pay $10.

Funny thing, I see the shipping restriction  as a form of market protectionism. You can't buy a firearm mail order, Internet, or even get one free and have it mailed or shipped to you to your door.
However, you can sell your firearms and ship or mail them out of Illinois. They just regulate the ones coming in to Illinois.

I have been to 4 store around here and I can't find Pelgunoil either. Going to have to order it from PA. unless someone know where to get cheaper.
