Handling the PC77 after shoting - only experts opinion is requested, no speculat

I think my response was mis-translated/understood.

I meant it in a positive way that we arent 'experts'

In reality Crosman (the experts) learns from us....through our ideas, modifications, requests, likes and dislikes...if we were experts we would all have the same mass produced guns and wouldnt ever modify or change them...

The only expert opinion you may get from me is that you will not get a straight answer on the primary question you asked.


This has been hashed over many times in the last couple of years. Some people like to keep 1 or 2 pumps in the gun when stored and others empty. Seems it comes down to seal life (which I have never seen scientifically proved)  or safety. If you have kids in the house, I would recommend no pumps and keeping the gun secured. If no kids, do what makes you feel best.


The real experts are the people at the Crosman factory. If for whatever reason, they say in the manual to not leave the gun charged, then there you go. There is your answer. In the 1950's with Co2 guns, they recommended that you always leave gas in the gun. Now days they say leave it empty. As to the reasoning, no one here knows for 100% positive if it is a legal issue (which most of us believe) or a mechanical issue.


So there you go...flip a coin and pick a side. I know you did not want a non expert to answer, but I thought I would sum up the overall position of the forum membership that I have read on this subject over time.

BTW: I store my Co2's gassed and my pumpers with 2 pumps and my PCP charged.

woody's rite. When I found this forum I didn't know what a flat top piston was butsomewhere down the someone had a thought and made one does that make him an expert? Te Eperts are at CROSMAN they dessign and build them, We make them better and we ae not the Experts!

Don't feel insulted for me making clear that I am not looking for vague advices, but for absolutely reliable information to deliver a perfect service to my gun. Furthermore this is the greatest, even an international forum for Crosman pistols, so why not ask for highly qualified support? I think we have a lot of specialists/ experts here who know their gun better than their hometown and modify them in every way to make them become high-tec, aswell as people like me who are unexperienced with guns and are eager in order to handle them with the highest care possible. And despite this message is not adressed to everybody maybe, this is what I do need at the moment. Do you understand me?

And why shouldn't I casually mention that I payed twice what people in the US usually pay for it? Isn't that an interesting fact? I was neither complaining nor making anyone in the forum responsible for me paying 130$. Maybe I wrote it down to make people understand even better why I want to take flawless care about the PC77.

And now having dealt with that let me see your favourite pictures of your guns (My camera is unavailable.), and lets have some cake or ice-cream, or whatever you want and let's go shootin. Off course that is phisically not possible, but it's the idea, that counts.
