I understand the  Crosman  1377 and  1322 breech are the same. The 1322 breech is hard to find  right now  so I ordered a 1377 breech  and a 1322 extended probe bolt from Mellon  Air. The 1377  bolt with the breech kit seems to work just fine  in the 1322. Is there a minor  difference in the pellet end  of the bolt? I feel like it shouldn't work  but it  does... Unless someone  can see a issue with it I 'll go my  1322 pellet  popping way while  I want  on the Mellon Air  1322 bolt.

the 1322 steel breech is actually the 2240sbk

The difference is the o-ring groove and o-ring. If it seems to seal ok for you go ahead and shoot. But you may be loosing and bit of air there, then again, maybe not. A tissue over the loading port and shoot. I would go ahead and change to the Mellon bolt when you get it though either way.

No but it's a diff diameter and o-ring to match the .22 breech

The o-ring needs to be bigger because the .22 barrel loading port angle and bore is larger than the .177 barrel angle. So with a .177 bolt and oring, it would seat at (or closer to) the bore of a .22 barrel instead of on the angle, which may allow gas to blow by easier than if sealed properly on the angle alone.

I have been in-between bolts just like you and used the .177 bolt with the .22 barrel until I got a .22 bolt with little air loss. I think I might have even added a larger oring at one time per another members suggestion. But, in the long run you are better off with the correct bolt to barrel match up. The only problem I could see was if I blew the oring (low probability in my opinion) and it came back and "shot my eye out". I wear glasses so I took the risk  ;)
