Started ''tuning'' the M-rod 25. Last owner was a bit of a butcher... I placed a order with Crosman when I first got the gun. SO GLAD I DID!!  Screws boogered and missing parts. All replaced and reset to what I hope to be a good starting point.

It was shooting pretty ''hot''... I only got 8 pellets from 3k to 2k. I know the 25 is not miserly, but if I could get that number to a dozen I would be happy. I'm tuning for power with heavy pellets.

I'm THRILLED with how it shoots 43g Eunjins so far!! 1' off hand at 40 yards and under a 1/2'' at same off a rest.

I feel I should recrown my 1377s barrel I did not do a pretty job but it does shoot straight.

My youngest daughter did help me repel a zombie watermelon attack though...

I know, I know, pics or it did not happen.

This was her first time shooting the 1322  and was at 30 yards.  She was impressed with what the 14.3g pellet could do and still imbed itself in the pine backer board...

The between the eyebrows was my zombie kill...

Loving the Alecto grip, I didn't realise it was even possible to fit grips I thought it was all molded.

Quickie Tune:

The Vigilante has the same internals as the 357W6. The only difference is the new barrel shroud. Removed the barrel/shroud and side plate. Removed the trigger bar, trigger and sear. The trigger bar/link is stamped and had the telltale burrs on the side that rides against the hammer. Stoned off the burrs and polished. Stoned and polished the flat and angle at the rear of the trigger. Checked the sear and stoned and polished the ledge that engages the hammer notch. The lube that Crosman applied was dried and hard. Removed old lube and replaced at all engaging surfaces with white Tetra gun grease. Reassembled and had a much smoother double action as well as single action pull.

Made up a quick little rust bluing tank from some 2" ABS pipe, 1/4" aluminum rod and some metal pallet straps.

Pretty high-tech, huh?

EVERYTHING!!!

Actually, to be honest I've never done rust bluing before but that's about to change this week. After a few conversations I had with Gipetto (he gave me the idea for the ABS pipe) and a fellow on another forum plus the countless hours researching it on the net, I feel confident enough to give it a whirl . Got fed up with cold blue not producing satisfactory results, and everything I've read/seen on rust blue says it easily blows cold blue out of the water (no pun intended!).

Practicing on an old, stock 2240 barrel at the moment 'til I get the process down to a science, but have a whole list of pieces to do:

shortened Disco tube
2260 tube (it's in the tank in pic)
maybe re-do my 2250 tube
2 - 14" Crosman bbl's
1 - 24" Crosman bbl
1 - 24" LW bbl
1 - 20" LW bbl
couple of power adjusters

Once I get some pieces done I will start a new thread in the "Off Topic" section showing my set up, procedure and results.
